These Terms of Service apply to the use of the Carrapateira Surf School website and to the booking and provision of our surf lessons, surf-related activities, rentals and other services.
By using our website, contacting us or booking a service, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Services
Carrapateira Surf School provides surf lessons, surf-related activities, equipment rental and other related services in Carrapateira, Algarve, Portugal.
The availability of services may depend on weather, sea conditions, instructor availability, safety requirements and seasonal operations.
We reserve the right to refuse, postpone, cancel or adapt any activity when conditions are not considered safe or suitable.
3. Bookings
Bookings may be made through our website, email, phone, WhatsApp, social media or in person.
A booking is only confirmed once Carrapateira Surf School has accepted it and, where applicable, payment or deposit has been received.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate information when making a booking, including the number of participants, age, contact details, level of experience and any relevant health or safety information.
4. Prices and Payments
Prices are displayed or communicated in euros (€) and may include applicable taxes, unless stated otherwise.
Payment conditions, including deposits, full payment or payment on arrival, will be communicated at the time of booking.
Carrapateira Surf School reserves the right to update prices at any time. Price changes will not affect confirmed bookings unless agreed with the customer.
5. Cancellations by the Customer
If you need to cancel or change a booking, you must contact us as soon as possible using the contact details provided above.
Cancellation, refund or rescheduling conditions may depend on the type of service booked, the date of the booking and the notice given by the customer.
When possible, Carrapateira Surf School may offer rescheduling instead of cancellation, subject to availability.
No-shows or late arrivals may result in the loss of the booking without refund.
6. Cancellations by Carrapateira Surf School
Surf activities depend on weather and ocean conditions. Carrapateira Surf School may cancel, postpone or adapt any lesson or activity if conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.
If we cancel a service due to safety reasons, weather conditions, sea conditions or operational reasons, we will offer, where possible:
Rescheduling of the activity
An alternative service
A refund, when applicable
Carrapateira Surf School is not responsible for additional costs incurred by the customer, such as travel, accommodation or other personal expenses.
7. Right of Withdrawal
For online or distance bookings, consumers may have a legal right of withdrawal under applicable EU consumer protection rules.
However, this right may not apply to leisure services provided on a specific date or during a specific period, such as scheduled surf lessons, activities or rentals.
Where legally required, customers will be informed of any applicable withdrawal rights before completing the booking.
8. Customer Responsibilities
Customers must:
Arrive on time for the scheduled activity
Follow all safety instructions given by instructors and staff
Use equipment responsibly and according to instructions
Inform Carrapateira Surf School of any medical condition, injury, limitation or relevant issue that may affect participation
Respect other participants, staff, local rules, beaches and the natural environment
Not participate under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any substance that may affect safety
Carrapateira Surf School may refuse participation if a customer’s behaviour creates a risk to themselves, other participants, staff or equipment.
9. Health, Safety and Risk
Surfing and ocean-based activities involve natural risks, including changing sea conditions, waves, currents, tides, wind, contact with surfboards or other participants, and physical effort.
By participating, customers acknowledge that they understand these risks and agree to follow all safety instructions.
Customers are responsible for confirming that they are physically able to participate in the activity booked.
For minors, the parent or legal guardian is responsible for providing accurate information and authorising participation.
10. Minors
Participants under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
Carrapateira Surf School may require a parent or legal guardian to complete booking information, provide consent or be present before the activity begins.
11. Equipment
Any equipment provided by Carrapateira Surf School must be used with care and returned in the same condition, except for normal wear resulting from proper use.
Customers may be responsible for damage, loss or misuse of equipment caused by negligence, incorrect use or failure to follow instructions.
12. Photos and Videos
Carrapateira Surf School may take photos or videos during lessons or activities for operational, promotional or social media purposes.
Photos or videos identifying customers will only be used where legally permitted or with the customer’s consent.
Customers who do not wish to appear in photos or videos should inform us before the activity begins.
13. Website Use
The website is provided for information, contact and booking purposes.
Users agree not to misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious software, copy content without permission or use the website in any way that may damage Carrapateira Surf School or third parties.
14. Intellectual Property
All website content, including text, images, videos, logos, design elements and other materials, belongs to Carrapateira Surf School or is used with permission.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify or use our content for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
15. Liability
Carrapateira Surf School will provide services with reasonable care, professionalism and attention to safety.
However, we are not responsible for injury, loss, damage or inconvenience caused by failure to follow instructions, incorrect use of equipment, personal negligence, false or incomplete information provided by the customer, weather or sea conditions, or events outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where such exclusion is not permitted by law.
